Our Carrboro technicians didn't learn mold remediation from a weekend seminar — most came up through water damage restoration first, which means they understand how moisture actually moves through a structure before spores ever show up.
Our field techs are equipped with negative-air machines, HEPA filtration units, and borescopes for checking inside wall cavities without tearing the whole thing open unnecessarily.
WQB Mold Removal has passed inspection with Carrboro, NC environmental and health authorities on remediation protocol, and we keep that documentation on file for every job.
Our approach starts with a moisture map of the whole affected area, because treating one wall while an adjacent cavity keeps feeding the problem just means a return visit six months later.
We also work directly with a network of Carrboro-area contractors when a job needs drywall replacement, plumbing repair, or roofing work after remediation is complete, so you're not left juggling three different companies.
Here's what our technicians hear most often right before a homeowner finally picks up the phone.
A stale, damp smell that lingers even after cleaning usually means active growth somewhere behind drywall or under flooring. Our technicians can often narrow down the general location just from where the odor is strongest before ever opening a wall.
DIY drying with a box fan rarely reaches the moisture trapped inside wall cavities and subfloor. If a previous restoration job skipped moisture readings before closing the walls back up, hidden growth can sit undetected for months.
If symptoms clear up on vacation and come back the moment you're home in Carrboro, your indoor air quality deserves a look. A pattern of symptoms tied to one specific room in the house is often the strongest clue of all.
Green, black, or gray speckling around windows, vents, or baseboards is often just the visible tip of a larger colony. A quick photo sent to our office can sometimes help us gauge urgency before you even schedule a visit.
From a single bathroom to a flooded crawl space, our Carrboro crews scale the response to match the actual problem.
Active flooding and sewage backups get priority scheduling since the mold clock starts ticking almost immediately. Extraction equipment and industrial dehumidifiers go in immediately to slow the moisture before it ever has a chance to seed a new colony.
Once remediation is complete, we run post-remediation verification testing so you have documentation the job actually worked. We'll also flag any structural repair the job needs and put you in touch with a trusted Carrboro tradesperson if it's outside our scope.
We provide documentation packages commercial clients can hand directly to insurers or tenants. We're comfortable working evenings or weekends on commercial jobs when that's what keeps a Carrboro business running without interruption.
Buying a Carrboro home? A pre-purchase mold inspection can catch problems a standard home inspection misses entirely. A written inspection report is available for real estate transactions, refinancing, or your own peace of mind about a Carrboro property.
These tight spaces require specialized equipment and technicians trained to work safely in confined areas. We often find the crawl space is the real source of a musty smell upstairs, even in Carrboro homes where the visible living space looks perfectly clean.
For Carrboro properties with chronic humidity issues, we design a long-term moisture control plan, not just a one-time fix. A small investment in prevention is almost always cheaper than paying for the same remediation twice.
No surprises, no vague timelines — here's exactly what happens once you call +1-844-578-1604.
Tell our dispatcher what you're seeing and smelling, and we'll get a technician on the calendar, often same-day for Carrboro addresses. Photos texted ahead of time can help us prep faster.
We walk the property with a moisture meter and, when needed, take air or surface samples for lab analysis. We point out exactly what we're seeing as we go, not just at the end.
Containment barriers go up first, then affected materials are removed, treated, and HEPA-vacuumed according to industry protocol. Daily progress updates are available if you're not on-site during the work.
You'll get a written report you can keep for your records or share with an insurer. We'll also walk the space with you so nothing gets signed off without your input.
We quote a flat rate before any work begins, so there's no surprise invoice waiting for you at the end.
Dispatch times in Carrboro typically run same-day for active issues, because we staff enough local technicians to avoid the two-week backlog other companies run.
Every job includes documented before-and-after testing, not just a verbal assurance that "it's handled."
And if something doesn't sit right after we leave, our satisfaction guarantee means we come back and make it right at no extra charge.
We also try to be upfront about what we can't fix on day one — if a Carrboro home has an underlying roof or plumbing issue causing repeat moisture intrusion, we'll say so plainly instead of quietly re-treating the same spot every year.
Local reputation matters more to a small Carrboro-area crew than a national franchise ever has to worry about, and that keeps us honest about scope, pricing, and timelines.
We stand behind every remediation job with a written guarantee, not just a handshake, because your peace of mind matters as much as the finished work.

Answers to what Carrboro homeowners ask us most.
Most Carrboro calls get a technician on-site the same day, and active emergencies are prioritized ahead of routine inspections. Weekend and holiday calls are still answered by our on-call dispatcher rather than routed to voicemail.
We quote the full scope up front after inspection, and that number doesn't change unless the scope does. We're happy to walk through the line items with you over the phone before you commit to anything.
Our on-call crew handles active flooding, sewage backups, and sudden mold discovery around the clock, including nights and weekends. We also coordinate directly with plumbers or roofers when the source of the water needs to be stopped before drying can even begin.
Testing typically takes a few business days, and you receive a written lab report with the results. We'll walk you through what the lab report actually means in plain terms, not just hand you a page of Latin names.
Some policies cover mold tied to a sudden pipe burst but exclude long-term humidity issues, so it's worth checking your specific policy language. Our detailed photo documentation and written scope of work are formatted to make the claims process as painless as possible.
Timeline depends on the square footage affected and whether structural materials need to be removed and replaced. Drying time after water extraction can add a day or two before remediation itself even starts, depending on how saturated the materials were.
Anyone with asthma or mold sensitivities may want to arrange alternate accommodations during larger jobs, and we'll advise based on scope. We'll always tell you honestly if we think you should stay elsewhere rather than downplay it to keep the job simpler on our end.
Our containment and air scrubbing protocols are designed to protect the rest of the household while work is underway. Once we complete post-remediation testing and the numbers come back clean, the space is safe to use normally again.
Every job addresses the moisture source, not just the visible growth, because treating symptoms without fixing the cause almost guarantees regrowth. If the same conditions caused a prior remediation to fail, we'll flag that risk clearly before starting the new job.
Call +1-844-578-1604 to ask about current inspection options for your Carrboro address, as availability can vary by season. Even a phone consultation before scheduling can help you understand whether what you're seeing warrants a visit.
Remediation focuses on removing the active colony and correcting the moisture source so the environment no longer supports abnormal growth. What actually matters is whether your indoor levels match what's normal for outdoor air in Carrboro, NC, and testing confirms that.
Surface cleaning with bleach may remove visible staining but rarely reaches spores embedded in porous materials like drywall or subfloor. Bleach also doesn't address whatever moisture condition allowed mold to grow in the first place, so the same spot often returns within weeks.
